According to a survey of nearly 15,000 Englishmen, tall people feel mentally and physically healthier than people of small stature. The health of the volunteers in the study was measured with questions about moving, pains and fears.
It appears that people in the shortest category (women less than 151 centimeters and men less than 162 centimeters) significantly lower scores in quality of life than people of average height. The average length in this study is 161 cm for women and 175 cm for men.
The researchers think that people feel healthier when they have a few inches more height than average people. Experts therefore believe that children with growth problems should undergo with growth hormone treatment in order to avoid problems in the future.
Professor William Butler: "You can really do anything about your height once you're an adult, but there are moral objections to such hormone therapy."
